Nigerian/American Rapper Wale Set to Come Home,Linked to Don jazzy's Mavin Records
American
Rapper, Olubowale Victor Akintimehin popularly called Wale has revealed his
intention to move to Nigeria. He dropped the news via his twitter account.
The
30 year old singer also revealed that he has had a conversation about this with
Mavin Records Executive, Don Jazzy.
About
a year ago, the Washington DC raised Rapper first set his foot in Nigeria to
perform at a Johnnie Walker event. During his visit, the singer recorded songs
with artistes such as D’Banj, Don Jazzy and Olamide among others.
He
also used the chance to reunite with his father and relatives who all hail from
Ondo State.
“I promise to keep
coming back. If you all will have me, I’Il
come back. Shout out to my dad, Mr. Akintimehin do you want to take a bow for
these people now? Haaa Oga!” he promised before
returning to his US-base.
Sources
say that the singer is frustrated that his career is under-appreciated in the
United States. Describe as one of the brightest rap talent around, Wale who
joined Rick Ross Maybach Music Group in 2011 bared his mind recently to MTV
about his continued snub by Grammy award-organizers which he described as “the
same trophy I have been fighting my whole career to get one of them.”
