 A Japanese company has announced the successful test drive of a flying car. Sky Drive Inc. conducted the public demonstration on August 25, the company said in a news release, at the Toyota Test Field, one of the largest in Japan and home to the car company's development base. It was the first public demonstration for a flying car in Japanese history. The car, named SD-03, manned with a pilot, took off and circled the field for about four minutes. "We are extremely excited to have achieved Japan's first-ever manned flight of a flying car in the two years since we founded SkyDrive... with the goal of commercializing such aircraft," CEO Tomohiro Fukuzawa said in a statement. A fresh case of Apple’s new iPhone popping open due to a swollen battery has been reported in state media in China, the world’s biggest smartphone market where the U.S. firm is seeking to revive faltering sales. The incident comes as Apple investigates similar cases reported in Taiwan and Japan of batteries in its latest iPhone 8 Plus becoming bloated, causing the device’s casing to open. Twitter  is testing out a new system with its social media platform by doubling the character limit to 280. But the feature is only available to a small group. The news was announced on the Twitter blog which said the reason for the change was that more characters would give the opportunity for Twitter users to convey a thorough thought in 280 characters instead of cramming it into 140 characters. They found that languages like Japanese, Korean, and Chinese can convey about double the amount of information in one character as in other languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese or French. This means people who tweet in Japanese, Korean and Chinese can express thoughts in fewer characters with more room to spare, as opposed to English, which takes up a lot of tweet real estate.
