President Buhari opts to work from home

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the meeting of the Federal Executive Council, FEC on Wednesday said that the President needed some rest and has asked that all the files on his table be brought to him at his official residence at the Presidential Villa, Abuja for treatment.  Buhari was not at the FEC m eeting. He delegated Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to function in his place.

Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan Two years after, former President Goodluck Jonathan has spoken on the loss of his Presidency. He said he lost the 2015 elections to local and international conspiracies. He blamed it all on former United States President Barack Obama, ex-British Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Francois Hollande for aiding President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory. Dr. Jonathan also said he was disappointed by the conduct of the immediate past Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, in the weeks preceding the elections. He said he conceded defeat to avoid bloodshed in view of a similar experience after the 2011 poll. He, however, claimed that he did not take disciplinary action against ex-Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke because the evidence against her was weak. Ugandan pastor sets thousands of Holy Bibles ablaze, says the bible is misleading

Members of House of Prayer Ministries located in Makerere in Uganda, were left shocked when their pastor, Aloysius Bugingo on Easter Monday set thousands of Holy bibles, belonging to them ablaze saying it was misleading. According to Zambezi Report, the pastor claims that the lines talking about the Fasting and Lent, in general, were erased and that the word 'Holy Ghost 'appears a whopping 99 times yet the word 'Holy Spirit' appears only seven times. He says that Bibles like The King Jame’s version, the New Testament, The Good News Bible have been tampered with and some verses were omitted. Pastor Bugingo who has 3,000 to 6,000 members who attend prayers at his church daily requested for their Bibles which has the misleading lines and set them ablaze on Easter Monday.

Nigerian female pop star, Tiwa Savage’s estranged husband Tunji Balogun popularly known as Teebillz has expressed his regrets. Teebillz revealed that if he could turn back the hands of time, he would not do an elaborate wedding. He said the belief that men should always dominate every aspect of the marriage was incorrect. Teebillz was speaking as a panelist at “Mind the Gap X”, a love and relationship class for single, married and divorced people organised by Pastor Wale Adefarasin and life coach, Lanre Olusola. The Official Emblem of the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017 was unveiled today in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates capital and Host City for the tournament. Father slits 13-year-old daughter's throat after argument about her spending too much time on social media

A 41-year-old man has been arrested in Phatthalung, Thailand for inflicting serious injuries on his 13-year-old daughter after arguing with her over the amount of time she spent on Facebook and other social media platform. The suspect identified as Joi, slit her throat on Sunday morning,  April 9th, and then locked her in a rented house in Phetchaburi's Muang district. He was arrested at a checkpoint in Prachuap Khiri Khan's Thap Sakae district on Sunday night while trying to flee with his youngest daughter. Joi told police he attacked the girl out of rage after they argued about her spending too much time on Facebook and Line. His wife, 44, corroborated that version of events. She said her husband did not like the girl spending a lot of time on social media for fear it would impact negatively on her school work. She, however, denied the suggestion the attack was the result of sexual abuse. The wife said her husband had a violent temper and had hit the girl before o

Man kills wife, one of her special needs pupils, then turns the gun on himself

A teacher and an eight-year-old special needs student were killed on Monday April 10th, by the teacher's estranged husband at an elementary school in San Bernardino, California, US. Karen Smith, 53, was in her classroom when her estranged husband, Cedric Anderson, 53, came in without a word and opened fire, reloading at least twice. There were 15 special needs pupils in the classroom and two adult aides at the time of the attack. Standing behind Karen were two of the pupils, Jonathan Martinez, 8, and an unidentified 9-year-old pupil. They were both hit and Jonathan died later at Loma Linda University Medical Center where they were airlifted to after the attack. The other boy is in a critical condition. After shooting at Karen and the kids, Cedric turned the gun on himself. The couple had only been married for a few months and had been estranged for several weeks. Anderson was allowed into the school after he told office staff he was dropping off something for his wife.

Head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis has said he might not be alive in 2019. He stated this while speaking at a vigil service on the Catholic Church’s World Youth Day last weekend. Pope Francis 1 According to the Associated Press, the 80-year-old referred to his own death twice in the span of a few minutes at the vigil. In reference to the 2019 edition of The Catholic Church World Youth Day, which will be held in Panama, Pope Francis told the crowd gathered at the St. Mary Major basilica: “I don’t know if it will be me, but the Pope will be in Panama!” A few minutes earlier, he drew gasps from the pews when he said: “At my age, we (old people) are about to pass away.” Sensing their pained reaction, he added: “Who guarantees life? No one. At your age, you have the future ahead of you.”

President Trump Two Syrian jets took off today from the air base that was hit by U.S. missiles and carried out strikes on areas under ISIS control in the countryside of eastern Homs, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The Syrian government responded to Thursday night's U.S. strike on its Shaayrat air base by quickly fixing the base and allowing the two planes to take off from there, the human rights organization said. A U.S. official said Syrian planes took off from the base today but did not confirm the action taken by the plane. The official noted that up to 20 Syrian aircraft were destroyed in Thursday's airstrikes but added that the missiles did not target every aircraft at the base and that the runway was untouched.
