The rich kids of Zimbabwe: their incredibly extravagant life-style

Image
Welcome to the world of Zimbabwe’s wealthy young elite, where silver plated Rolls-Royces and private jets lined in gold are just the norm – and showing off your tens of millions are essentially social media viewing. Even though the country is ranked one of the poorest on the planet, these politicians’ off-springs and young entrepreneurs prove that there is still plenty of money floating around the country. There are the sisters dubbed the ‘Zimbabwean Kardashians’ – flaunting their wealth around in the poverty-stricken nation, as well as Church preachers, or ‘prophets’ as they like to call themselves, showing off fancy cars and bundles of fifty dollar bills. The pictures are all the more astonishing for since the economy has been decimated in the last two decades and inflation is currently running at 348 per cent. While the military has taken over the country and are currently negotiating President Robert Mugabe’s exit, these filthy rich youngsters are showcasing their wealth

Nigerian Mother Of Three Pleads Guilty To Distributing Child Pornography.

A 51-year-old Jadesola Agbalade forwarded a child pornography clip which showed a child being raped, a Dublin court has heard. She pleaded guilty to one count of knowingly distributing child pornography on July 20, 2016. Garda Enda Ledwith told Karl Finnegan BL, prosecuting, that he arrested a man in Dublin Airport in July 2017 in relation to credit card fraud. That man’s phone was investigated and the child pornography clip was discovered. The court heard the clip showed a child between the ages of two and five being raped by a man. Upon further investigation, gardaí discovered it is an international clip that has been in circulation since about 2014. Gardaí traced the phone number from which the clip was sent back to Agbalade. CAF to meet on proposal for Super Eagles to play pre-World Cup friendlies in March

Image
Officials have revealed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will meet soon to discuss a proposal for African World Cup qualifiers to play friendlies during the FIFA window in March. Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia will be Africa’s five flag bearers at Russia 2018. However, all five teams will be engaged in AFCON 2019 in the next FIFA window in March and this will be the last window before the World Cup in June in Russia. Super Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye said Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick has proposed that the next FIFA window should now be used by the World Cup finalists to prepare for the global soccer finals. “In the few days CAF will meet to deliberate a proposal by the NFF president on using the FIFA window in March for the World Cup flag bearers to play friendly matches ahead of Russia 2018,” Ibitoye disclosed. So, instead of playing against Seychelles in March 2018, the Eagles will play a top-rate team during that w

U.S, Niger disagree on what happened on fatal mission

Image
A month after an Islamist ambush in Niger killed eight U.S. and Nigerien troops, the two sides’ officials still cannot agree on the sequence of events leading to the incident. Four soldiers from each nation were killed when a joint patrol was attacked on Oct. 4 by dozens of militants with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades. The incident drew attention to the little-known U.S. military presence in Niger at a time when many Americans are weary of U.S. involvement in conflicts abroad and Nigeriens are chafing at the growing presence of foreign troops on their soil. The U.S. has 800 soldiers operating in the largely desert West African nation, more than France, which has 4,000 in the wider Sahel trying to tackle Islamist militancy. The main U.S. base in Africa is in Djibouti, which supports about 4,000 personnel. A Pentagon investigation into the incident, led by a two-star general from U.S. Africa Command, may take weeks. The Pentagon says it has not settled on any

Gunman kills 27 at Texas church service

Image
A black-clad gunman armed with an assault rifle opened fire on a small-town Texas church during Sunday morning services, killing 27 people and wounding 20 in the last mass shooting to shock the United States. Authorities did not identify the gunman, saying only that he was a “young white male, maybe in his early 20s,” who was wearing a bulletproof vest and found dead in his vehicle after being confronted by a local resident. Governor Greg Abbott warned the toll may rise. “There are 26 lives that have been lost. We don’t know if that number will rise or not, all we know is that’s too many, and this will be a long, suffering mourning for those in pain,” he said. Exactly five weeks after the worst shooting in modern US history, the latest tragedy prompted an outpouring of condolences, led by US President Donald Trump. The victims, who ranged in age from five to 72, were gunned down at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, a rural community of about 400 people located 30

The left-back has been sacked for the shameful incident, but his actions have not been forgotten by the L'OM support Marseille fans have called for players to "respect" them and the team after Patrice Evra's incredible attack on a supporter.  The former Manchester United and Juventus full-back was sacked after kicking a fan in the head during a touchline altercation midweek.  Thursday's Europa League clash against Vitoria was the scene for the attack, which was reminiscent of Eric Cantona's famous 'kung-fu' kick on a Crystal Palace supporter in 1995.  And, as L'OM took to the field for the first time since the incident, supporters responded with a banner in Stade Velodrome berating Evra's attitude.  "Love for the shirt, respect for fans, professionalism. Is it too much to ask?" the banner unfurled in Sunday's home clash against Caen read. There was at least some cheer after the scandal, as Marseille ran rampan

Buhari's Inaccurate List

Image
Indications have emerged showing that the ‘full list’ of all the appointments made by President Muhammadu Buhari since he assumed office on May 29, 2015 as released by the Presidency is inaccurate. The 159-member list contains several errors and omissions as no fewer than 29 names of heads of agencies or parastatals were missing on the list while data provided for another five were incorrect. The presidency had been challenged by a publication by BusinessDay which indicated that 81 of Buhari’s appointments are either from the North-east, North-west or North Central. In apparent response to that report as well as several similar ones, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, released the list of 159 appointees on Saturday. Below are several omitted names and some wrongly described titles in a list some political observers in the country have described as “a desperate bid to cover Buhari’s lopsided appointments.” 1. Narrating how the accident happened , a pastor in the church, Adebisi read the report  from the aircraft’s pilot during a thanksgiving service on Friday. “The main malfunction we had in the Cyprus-Israel flight was a stabilizer twin-motor failure. During the said flight that we had the twin motor failure, the auto-pilot could no longer exert the desired pressure to keep the aircraft in the required altitude for stability flight. “The captain disconnected the auto-pilot, took and returned the aircraft to the required altitude for that phase of the flight. Because the aircraft was out of trim during this takeover, the aircraft abruptly pitched off with much pitch force. ” The captain counteracted it with a pitch down force. These counter forces caused turbulence and movement in

WHO Removes Mugabe As Goodwill Ambassador

Days after the World Health Organization named President Robert Mugabe as a goodwill ambassador, a move that angered and stunned human rights activists, it rescinded the appointment. "I have listened carefully to all who have expressed their concerns, and heard the different issues that they have raised," WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said. "It is my aim to build a worldwide movement for global health. This movement must work for everyone and include everyone." Tedros said he consulted the Zimbabwean government and concluded it's in the organization's best interests. The public health agency announced the appointment last week,  saying the African leader would focus on noncommunicable diseases  on the continent such as heart attacks and strokes. A public outcry ensued. Angry tweets took aim at Tedros and the public health agency. "The government of Robert Mugabe has brutalized human rights activists, crushed demo

LASEMA Recovers Man’s Body From Lagos Lagoon

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has recovered a body believed to be that of 40-year old Mr Oluseyi Adekunle, who allegedly jumped off the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge into the Lagos lagoon, on Friday. The widow of Sgt. La David T. Johnson held the arm of an Army officer as she led her family, dressed in white, into the Christ the Rock Community Church in suburban Fort Lauderdale. The family asked that reporters remain outside. Debbie Valin and her teenage daughter, Michelle Shawn, held a U.S. flag outside the church in Cooper City more than an hour before the service. “We are here for the military. We are grateful for the people who serve,” said Valin, whose grandson just completed Marine boot camp. Fred Walker, a Marine veteran, planted small flags along the driveway into the church. “It
