Robocobs arrive in Dubai

The “world’s first operational Robocop” started its tour of duty on Sunday in Dubai, the first in the Emirate’s planned robot police force. The Robocop, five feet five inches tall and weighing 99kg, speaks six languages and reads facial expressions. “He can chat and interact, respond to public queries, shake hands and offer a military salute,” Brigadier-General Khalid Nasser Al Razzouqi, Director-General of Smart Services with the Dubai Police, said. Residents can use the Robocop to pay fines or report crimes, and it also can transmit and receive messages from police headquarters. “The launch is a significant milestone for the Emirate and a step towards realising Dubai’s vision to be a global leader in smart cities technology adoption,” Al Razzouqi said. “With an aim to assist and help people in the malls or on the streets, the Robocop is the latest smart addition to the force and has been designed to help us fight crime, keep the city safe and improve happiness levels,” he

Roger Moore of 007 Has Died

Actor Sir Roger Moore, best known for playing James Bond, has died aged 89, his family has announced. He acted as the famous spy in seven Bond films including Live and Let Die and the Spy Who Loved Me, BBC News reports. Sir Roger’s family confirmed the news on Twitter, saying he had died after “a short but brave battle with cancer”. The statement, from his children, read: “Thank you Pops for being you, and being so very special to so many people.” “With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated,” they said in a Twitter post. Nnamdi Kanu ignores bail conditions again, meets Igbo leaders

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has embarked on a unification tour of the Igbo people as he meets with top politicians and elite class. Recall that the IPOB leader was granted bail last week on the condition that he would not be in a gathering of more than ten persons. There are rumours that he could be rearrested having allegedly defiled that particular condition on several occasions since leaving Kuje prison, Abuja. He has since his release from prison been meeting important political players in the Southeast. Just barely two days after he met with Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, Kanu, the founder of Radio Biafra, meets with South East Senate Caucus in Abuja.
