Sacchi and Racism in Italy

Image
Italy's government has called for an end to racism after comments by former Italy and AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi which attracted massive condemnation on social media and the sporting world. Sacchi, who helped Milan win back-to-back European Cups in 1989 and 1990, stated that "too many blacks" played in Italy's under-20 leagues and that Italy no longer had "dignity or pride."  A while back, the news of a pregnant man who eventually gave birth to his child made headlines. The man has now revealed how he carried and gave birth to his daughter and the reason why he did that. Chris Rehs-Dupin, 33, made for a unique sight when he sported beards and a protruding belly that could not simply be explained off as a beer belly. They got into a civil partnership in October 2012 and legally married in 2013 then decided they wanted a family. The plan was for Amy to be the biological mother but after five attempts of intrauterine insemination failed, Chris, who was at the time a pre-op transgender, volunteered to carry their child....

Eight men now control as much wealth as the world's poorest 3.6 billion people, according to a new report from Oxfam International. The men -- Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Carlos Slim, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Amancio Ortega, Larry Ellison and Michael Bloomberg -- are collectively worth $426 billion, the anti-poverty group said on Sunday. "Such dramatic inequality is trapping millions in poverty, fracturing our societies, and poisoning our politics," said Paul O'Brien, Oxfam America's Vice President for Policy and Campaigns. The release of the group's annual inequality report coincides with the World Economic Forum in Davos. The annual meeting in the Swiss mountain resort brings together political and financial leaders and some of the wealthiest people in the world. The Oxfam report said that the richest 1% has owned more wealth than the rest of the planet since 2015. In the U.S., the richest 1% control 42% of the wealth. The study draws...
